About Me

Biography

​Sidney Strong is a sophomore from Columbia, MD studying Elementary Education and Creative Writing at the University of Maryland. Her interests include writing, illustration, and sculpting. She enjoys exploring new art forms and learning about art in different cultures. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, she plans to work as a teacher who incorporates arts into her teaching on a daily basis.

As a College Park Arts Scholar, Sidney intends to explore her research interests through her culminating Capstone project to be completed in her sophomore year. She enjoys having an outlet to express her artistic interests through her participation in the Arts Scholars program. As part of her university experience, Sidney has become involved with the Peer Mentor program, which is affiliated with College Park Scholars, where she hopes to engage younger students within their university community. Her academic goals include completing her Creative Writing minor and creating a Portfolio of her written work.
